medication Tarceva

My husband has lung cancer and had three types of chemo. The doctor wants him to go on Tarceva. Our copay for a one month supply is $2300. Does anyone know where this drug can be obtained for a smaller amount of money? We will keep buying it at this price for as long as we can. Hope there is someone that can give us some information. JoanH

Hi- go to www.tarceva.com and follow the links to organizations that will help you with the copay. Same thing happened to us but somehow our oncologist put a cap on the copay of the drug finally. Good luck and best wishes, Diane

Call the company that makes Tarceva and they will help you. They got Medco to help us and you can try them too.We pay $100.00 for 3 months supply and free shipping from Medco. I do not have the phone number but go to www.medco.com for help. Let us know if they help you as if not we can look up the phone number for the company that makes Tarceva.
Last Monday we found out that my Mom has stage IV lung cancer, she was given Tarceva, her insurance wont pay for it. We got very lucky, we were at a cancer center that has a non profit pharmacist. He offered my Mom the Tarceva at his cost. He said $300-$400 per month. Mom paid him $300 and she was given the meds. We are grateful. Perhaps you could call cancer center pharmacies and see if you could find a non profit pharmacist. Good luck to you. Maggie

Thank you Maggie! I called the Cancer Society and what they did was give me the name of a foundation that will possibly give us co-pay assistance. I filled out all the paper work but haven't heard from them yet. I will see if I go through a larger Cancer hospital and see if they can tell me of non-profit pharmacist. Thank you again,JoanH

Thanks to everyone that replied to my note on the price of Tarceva. We did find some co-pay assistance. It is through the Health Well Foundation. They said that they would reimburse us for the amount that we had to pay. Not sure yet how long it will last, but anything will help. Thanks again!JoanH
