The Leep Proceedure.

Hello, Is there anyone out there that has had the LEEP proceedure? I had it done 5 days ago, and for the first three days, all was fine. Very little pain, no bleeding. But, since the Doctor called me last night with my results, which were not good, (cervical cancer) the pain seems to be sneaking up on me. Now according to the pamphlet they give you when leaving the office, all is well, but man, today I feel like crap. My insides feel like they are going to fall out. The lower back pain makes me sick to my stomach. Not to the point where I feel medical attention may be needed, but just a nagging discomfort. My stomach feels full, like I would if I over ate a meal. Anyone ever had such a thing? Maybe it's just in my head. Or it is my payback for bragging to the Doctor, of how I was feeling great. He did sound shocked, and replied, that he was, due to him taking such a large sample from my cervix.

Leep Procedure

I too have had the leep procedure done. I really didnt have any pain for the first two days but most of that was because of the drugs still being inside me. I had my surgury on Friday and on saturday I was able to sit thru a 2 hour drive no problem. I started having pain on Sunday at church. Keep in mind that the drugs and anestesia could still have had an affect on you. After mine wore off I had really bad back pain and I was walking really funny. I felt like a duck waddeling around hunched over. I would like to think that our reactions were normal but atleast you got your results in fast. Mine took over a week. Hope everything goes ok. Sometimes I dont know if this message board is good or bad. At this point I dont want to have a hysterectomy after I give birth to my first child in the next two years but I think I will have to anyways. Too many mixed feelings. Well like I sead good luck.

Just Had a Leep Done Myself

I just had a leep done three days ago and I'm ok. They found abnormal cells while I was pregnant a year ago and couldnt biopsy my cervix because I would bleed out. So I had the biopsy done 6 weeks after my son was born and I was really bleeding from that for about two weeks, no pain really. The results were dysplasia, so they scheduled a LEEP for me a month later so that's where I am today. Acutally the local they gave me in my cervix made my heart beat so fast I thought I was going to die, but it wasn't bad. However by the time I got to my car I was starting to feel the pain. It stayed painful for a few hours, felt like a really bad period I went fetal. So I got pain meds, but only took them that day. I feel great other than the full feeling...my tummy was a little swollen too? I also passed tissue which I thought was my cervix falling out lol..but the Dr says it's normal for that to happen. I just went in the pool..I TOTALLY forgot I wasn't supposed to and my stomach is really upset now...I get my results on the 13th...Everything I read seems to make this no big deal and my Dr. plays it off to be no biggy too because the odds of cancer are slim I guess...but I feel like I should be a little more worried...

I had my LEEP done on June 30. I was in pain for the first few days and taking Tylenol 3 for it. During the procedure I could actually feel what was going on and taht hurt like heck!

My biggest complaint since then is that I'm a hormonal mess! My face broke out, I turned into a raving witch, my boobs hurt like there's no tomorrow...it's like PMS but it's been happening since the LEEP and PMS shouldn't be for at least another week. It's making me nuts!

Christine...I'm sorry for your poor results and that you are feeling so icky. You should call the doc and see what they suggest.

no Pain Here

I had a LEEP done in January 05 and the procedure itself wasn't painful, nor was the recovery after. What I found awful was the cervical block. I thought I was dying of a heart attack, which then made me start to hyperventilate and I broke down sobbing. I swear, I'll never have it done again. Like I said, I felt fine after physically, it was my mental state that was in question!

I was wondering, did you have cancer to begin with, is that why they gave you a LEEP? Or was it because of abnormal cells?

Pain With Leep

Okay now I am in the same boat as you. I am 20 and I have cervical cancer. They caught it so soon that it was removed using a leep because it was a small area. Now although I had cervical cancer be4 I knew it, once I knew I had it I began noticing pain, probably because I was paying attention to cramps I usually just ignored or blew off. Once I found out it was cancer I was really distressed and now I feel sick to my stomach and have lost my appetite which isn't a symptom of the cancer itself. When I am upset it gets worse so I have a feeling that STRESS makes the pain worse. Stress has many negative effects on the body so try your hardest to keep a positive mind and hopefully that will help. My prayers r with you and good luck sweetie!

Hi I also had a Leep done because I had high grade cells. I was put under and dont remember anything till recovery I had no pain but had meds to but laid on the couch for a few days and was better. But the tissue falling out is funny cause I called the Dr. freaking out. Well a year later I still have high grade cells so I see another leep in my future. My family doctor says that displaysia if not treated can cause death so keep seeing the doctor!!

Had Leep Done 3 Wks Ago

I have the full feeling also. I am also very moody and having extremely HEAVY bleeding. More than one of my worst periods. Anyone else dealing w/ this? I had cancer cells removed from the surface of my cervix 11/1/05. My dr's office acts like this is all normal. Right after leep I bled for about a week and then for the next week there was just a watery discharge that didn't smell too great. Now I have been bleeding again for 8 days.....

Leep

Hey,
I had the LEEP performed over a week ago. The first few days I thought that my lower back was going to fall out...lol. Then my whole back and chest were hurting. I went to the dr. and she said that I probably had a virus. It's been 10 days since the procedure, and I feel okay now. Still have really watery, smelly discharge, and a rash from wearing pads all the time!
Anyway, I got more bad news from the nurse on Wednesday. Supposed to talk to the dr. tomorrow.
I hope that everything works out for you.

After Leep...results

I had my procedure done two weeks ago. I went in to the doctor's office yesterday for my follow-up, and she said there was extensive moderate dysplasia, and that it was deeper than she thought. Therefore, the biopsy from the LEEP showed that they didn't "get it all." She said with someone my age (24, not married, possibly wanting kids) they don't get more aggressive until I go back for my next Pap in four months. I am extremely concerned, I feel like there's not much I can do. Has anyone else been through this before, and what did their doctors recommend? What happens if I go back and the Pap is abnormal (wouldn't it be anyway because they didn't get all of the cells?) Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated...sorry to reply to this message, I have never used a message board before and wasn't sure how to do this...

RE: Leep

I had a LEEP procedure done a few days ago. My pap showed moderate to severe dysplasia plus positive for HPV. I feel awful. Very tired and my whole body aches and I keep feeling like I am going to have a really bad period except I am post menopausal. I only have light spotting and not bleeding much...although I took the docs advice and have been taking things very easy and trying to rest and not exert too much.. My follow-up visit with the Doctor is on Monday and they should have the biopsy results by then.My main reason for posting is to advise anyone who has a choice to have the Doctor do the procedure in an operating room under anesthesia. I read so many horror stories of women who felt that the procedure was barbaric and very painful that I opted for the surgery center. I am glad that I did. I was "out" before I knew it and in the recovery room with no memory of anything.Of course now I am praying that I will have good news on Monday...and also that this really low grade lethargy and pain will go away.

Hi Best Bunny......I have been reading so much about all of this since being diagnosed with Lgsil. Yours was the closest to my experience that I have come across. First, I hope you are doing well. Has to be! I had my leep 4 days ago. Outpatient surgery with anesthesia. Thank God! Don't remember a thing. I am still waiting for my results and that is the hardest part.I have had no bleeding. Weird cramping and funny jolts of pain in my lower pelvis. I am also post-menopausal. Don't have that "period" feeling but more like a sore tender pelvic area. I found myself "weepy" about 24 hours after the Leep. All was fine until then. Guess it just hit me. If you can let me know how you have done since your Leep. Thanks
