40 years later

40 years ago my Mother's uncle was diagnosised with lung cancer from smoking and he died in four months. On November 6th my father was diagnosised with Lung cancer small cell carcenomia from smoking and he died on March 18th. He did chemo with two different types trying to find one he would respond to. So I am not seeing that we have made much progress in the last 40 years. I am sooooooooo angry and disappointed. I wonder with all the information out there today that people still pick up that cigarette. More has to be done about this addiction.

I agree, more needs to be done. We must try to not blame the addict but the pushers, the big tobacco companies. Nicotine is apparently harder to beat than a heroin addiction. Pbear

Hi,I agree with you about the problems with smoking, but I also think it is shocking and disappointing that so little progress has been made in treating lung cancer in 40 years! Roz
