Clear scan this week!

Hi,I haven't many times posted before. I am a 48 year old male diagnosed with GBMIV in Sept 07. The tumor was large, about lemon sized, and located behind my right eye. I received 33 radiation/Temodar treatments in Nov. and December. I just finished my fourth month of 5/23 Temodar last month. I had a clean MRI scan in January, and a second clean scan this week! I am so thrilled and am praising God! I have ten children, with many of them still at home. My wife is my caregiver, and is my rock. I am also the sole breadwinner for the family. I was able to go back to work in November, and am currently symptom free. This message board has been very helpful, and as I read through some of your stories I try to pray for each of you.God's blessings to you all: Pat

Pat,I am praising God with you as you celebrate your clean scan! I love it when "normal" can actually be more than just a word on this roller coaster we are all on!! My husband is starting his radiation and temodar on Monday; he had surgery on 3/10, diagnosed with an Anaplastic astrocytoma III, and is doing well. Back to work, preaching and doing whatever else he wants to do. We are praying for no side effects and clear scans for a very long time. We will pray for you as well. Hugs and prayers to everyone,Debralynn

Pat, that's wonderful news. My husband was diagnosed in Aug 07 with GBM too, right temporal lobe, the tumor was larger than a walnut and smaller than a golf ball. He just had another clean MRI this week as well, it's such a relief. He's also on 5/23 Temodar. I'm happy to hear you were able to go back to work, and are symptom free to enjoy time with your family -- 10 children have to keep you and your wife pretty busy!I'll pray for continued good days for you.Nancy**husband dx 8/07, GBM, surgery, IMRT radiation/Temodar, currently on 5/23 Temodar, MRI's stable.

He is so good. That is amazing you are symptom free! I was dx in Aug. 07, have had 3 good MRI's and went back to work teaching kindergarten. Although I have not been symptom free, I have only had to deal with a few minor effects from chemo. My prayers for you and your family is for God to continue his blessings and healing in your continued progress. "I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11Trusting in Him,Denise
