He just finished his 15th treatment. They did a chest xray and found a nodule on his left lung. Today he went for a ct of his chest. Has anyone ever had this travel from the brain to another part of the body? We were told that this does not happen. Thanks for your input. God bless all who suffer from this horrible disease. Chiroman95 Fri, 02 May 2008 00:00:00 GMT Same here.  GBM starts in the brain and usually stays in the brain.  I think tho, that Lorre G posted that it is possible and sometimes does move down the spine via the cerebral spinal fluid.Maybe the nodule isn't cancer.  Did they give you a definite diagnosis of the lung nodule?Best of luck,Barb bpanc Fri, 02 May 2008 00:00:00 GMT Has he been tested for TB? Osborne Sat, 03 May 2008 00:00:00 GMT I had 16 months of Avastin and developed small spot on lungs which turned out to be ecxess water retention and cleared up after mdication was adjusted. GBM doesn't spread to other parts of body if it originated in the brain or if it does it is extremely rare. The blood/brain barrier is why all brain cancer is hard to treat and that protection of the brain makes it almost (not)  impossible for brain cancer to spread to other parts of the body. It generally doesn,t spread to lungs, breast, prostate or other common areas. Good luck and take care.  Steve barber Sat, 03 May 2008 00:00:00 GMT I have heard nor read nothing re: GBM elsewhere (is astrocyte-based & stays with astrocytes).  If you live in the midwest (USA), its not uncommon to have granuled spots on the lungs ("farmer's lung") which tend to be benign.  I hope the CT turns out ok - keep us posted!!!  Nikki Smilie Sun, 04 May 2008 00:00:00 GMT
