Treatment

Hi - My aunt is 85 years old. Last year she was diagnosed with a tumor in the brain. Thanksgiving 2007 they operated to remove the tumor. She went into a coma after, then came slowly back. Her recovery was phenomonanal. But in early March of 2008, a tumor came back. Her physical condition is great today. Her ability to communicate ideas is still crippled. She knows what is going on, and responds well to simple questions. But she has great difficulty conveying ideas. Anyway, doctor wants to do radiation and chemo, 6 weeks of daily treatment. Any experienced advice out there? I would appreciate any input. Thanks Hermine.

RE: Treatment

Wow!!! 85 that is a nice ageMy friends mother was Dx 2 yrs ago with GBM and they didnt want to even hear about radiation and or chemo at the age of 86. One must question these treatments at that age. The body just does not respond well at that age. This is not to say not to do it, but it is certainly something to think about.
