I had CIN III. When the results came back it showed that the margins were not clear. My Doctor said he wanted to wait til after my 3 month check up before doing anything else. At that time and for about 2-3 months later I had constant lower back and leg pain along with abdominal pain and breakthrough bleeding. Since February the pain has come back. Low back pain, leg pains, lower abdominal pain, a pinching and crampy pelvic pain. My monthly visitor has become exceedingly heavy and I am so bloated and within the past three weeks I've gained 15 lbs. Again my obgyn hasn't addressed these issues. I went to my pcp and she scheduled bloodwork, x-ray and vaginal ultrasound. I'm scared of course but more so irritated. Can someone sound off on this to me, I know these next few weeks are going to be stressful until I have an affirmative diagnoses of what I feel is to be the truth. I feel it was never truly taken care of in the first place and that its back but with a vengance. Did she tell you if the endocervical glands were involved? From what you posted, your doctor's nonchalence about your concerns is grounds for firing her, right there. Please get a different doctor, or at least a second opinion. It is your right to have your body given more regard than that, and I am so sorry the current doctor is adding to your stress. Something I always tell people is1. Look at all of the lab reports. They're much easier to understand than people realize, and the internet is full of information about what the terms mean.2. Have a detailed discussion about what you have, how extensive it is, and if anything else is involved.3. Have a detailed discussion about all of your options, which are cryosurgery, laser, LEEP, cold knife, and at the more extreme, trachelectomy (removes the cervix and leaves the uterus for fertility purposes), and hysterectomy.It definitely helps remove a big part of the fear in that it removes the mystery. It also gets you actively involved in making informed decisions that protect your health and your life.It also helps to bring somebody else if you are uncomfortable or feel you might forget any questions to ask. (Writing down what you want to know will help, too.) Did your soon-to-be ex-doctor explain what he meant by unclear margins? Did he also do an ECC to check the endocervical canal? Definitely get ahold of those lab reports. You can always have your primary care physician get that information for you. But definitely look at them, and at this point, have your primary physician go over it with you, while you find a new GYN. It's scary to first look at the report. I was so nervous! But it is the first step in being proactive about your healthcare needs. herenow Thu, 08 May 2008 00:00:00 GMT As an fyi, it sounds like you had complications from that LEEP. That can happen, and your doctor should have addressed. I know had complications for three months, after mine, which was very disheartening.However, your OB/GYN should have addressed that with you or checked to see if the pain was caused by something else. herenow Thu, 08 May 2008 00:00:00 GMT His response to me regarding the margins were that they were not clean however.. quote " I burned the hell out of it so theres nothing to worry about".I'm actually considering going to MD Anderson, due to the fact I plan on moving to Texas in the next few months, however in the mean time I've already switched my PCP due to a large disagreement we had this past Monday. In the meantime I'm waiting to receive the results of the other tests that were just done.In my case fertility is no longer an issue with me, I am 34 and have 6 children, my youngest is 9 and my oldest is 20. The doctor scrapes out cells from the canal. If you had unclear margins, I'm surprised he didn't follow up on that, as well as doing further biopsies/colposcopies on the outside of your cervix.He "burned the hell out of the margins?" My god. No wonder you had so much physical pain, afterward! *shudders* Please, please, please do not let that doctor ever examine or treat you, again!
