Combination Treatment with Avastin/CPT11

Hello Everyone,I haven't posted in awhile, but my husband has been doing pretty well on the CPT11/Avastin regimen. Now his doctors are adding Temodar back to his schedule, as well. He's taken these chemos separately and has done well with them, but we're not sure what to expect with them being given together. This could definitely be the one, two punch with a kick in the gut. Has anyone had this same type schedule? If so, how did it go? KB1263

I'll be curious to see how this goes. If I understand what you say - they are going to use BOTH the CPT11 and the Temador? My brother has done well with the Avastin/CPT - so far - so good. It shrunk considerably after the first cycle and now seems to be stable with very slight schrinkage after each subsequent cycle. He just began his 5th cycle and the ocon wants to put him through 9 total treatments.Eileen

Yes, he's doing both CPT-11 and Temodar at the same time. It sounds like a lot, and I'm certain it is. However, our doctor is taking the proactive approach. He says he's going for the cure!! This certainly gives us hope, but I just worry what it will do to my husbands overall health. He has also done quite well on the CPT-11/Avastin, but adding the Temodar is a different thing. We're just one day into the Temodar. We've got the rest of this week to go. Say a prayer for him. KB1263

doc's at Duke put my patient on this and he has declined and literally within 3 mo's is in the dying process we had to put him in the hospital today. I pray that this mix that they did for him doesn't cause the evil tumor to grow--I think it has grown exponentially
