You won't need much more than motrin and some rest. Really - I had it done. It will feel much more like cramping than anything else. Just take the motrin as prescribed.

You will get shots to numb you before the procedure, but you should not need more than Motrin after the procedure is completed. I agree with the person who just posted....it feels just like minor cramps. It's alot less painful than you will think.

I came in late on this discussion, but I dearly hope this went well for you. However, given how frightened you were, I'm sorry you weren't able to schedule general anesthesia in outpatient. There is always a risk with anything, but if a woman is that frightened, it reduces the risk of problems with an in-office visit by having it done in outpatient. When I got the brochure on LEEP and saw the pictures of what LEEP does, I had an anxiety attack and insisted on sedation. Believe me, the doctor I fired was openly irritated and said it would take more time and I would have to pay for an anesthesiologist. The doctor I hired, after I fired her, agreed it's better for a nervous, frightened patient to have general anesthesia. I had no complication from the anesthesia. I truly hope the doctor was understanding when you were there. But as an fyi, please remember it is your right to have good healthcare, and your doctor is obligated to respect your choices. Hopefully, you won't need anything else done, (I'll keep my fingers crossed.) but always remember you don't have to accept what doesn't fee appropriate or comfortable for your body.
