Free lodging during treatment

Yesterday I toured a new facility in Minneapolis supported by the American Cancer Society. It is called Hope Lodge and there are 26 of them around the country. They provide free temporary lodging for patients undergoing treatment who have to travel from out-of-town or out-of-state for their treatment. In some cases there is also free transportation to and from local hospitals. They are non-medical facilities and the patient must have a caregiver stay with them. The Minneapolis facility was absolutely beautiful. It just opened in January and is not full right now but I understand that some of the other facilities have waiting lists. I thought this info might help some of you who have to travel a distance for treatment. Google "Hope Lodge American Cancer Society" for more info and locations. Chris
