RAD001 (everolimus)

I've seen several articles in the Cancer Compas about clinical trials for RAD001 and its long(er) term progression free survival taking everolimus. My husband is currently in a clinical trial of Nexavar/AMG386. His periodic scans have shown no new growth (metastatic RCC - kidney spread to lungs) and actually some shrinkage. The trial is over in June. Just curious as to whether anyone has had experience with everolimus -- results, side effects, etc. LBM

RE: RAD001 (everolimus)

My daughter took part in the RAD001 study for two years. The time she was on the treatment she experienced no side effects. Her lesions in both lungs remained stable the entire length of the study. Unfortunately the study ended and we see slight growth in one of her tumors. I wish the FDA would approve the everolimus for her :( I don't understand how they can take medicine away that is helping? Good luck to you.Jaime
