CancerCompass message board discussion started by Boston on 6/16/2008 http://www.cancercompass.com/message-board/message/all,25077,0.htm Sun, 23 Nov 2008 00:00:00 GMT Sun, 23 Nov 2008 00:00:00 GMT http://backend.userland.com/rss RSS.NET: http://www.rssdotnet.com/ It has been 3 years and when I was first dx I lost a lot of hair - now they are lowering my dose again ( 125 - started at 150 then 137 - my heart beats too fast ) of Levoxyl /synthroid and I am wondering if other had problems with the hair.  I am a woman 50+ - hair matters!Also I am told I'm anemica but have to be careful taking iron because it wraps the synthroid and kills the effect - anyone taking both have tips?Thanks Jo Boston Mon, 16 Jun 2008 00:00:00 GMT Ever since my thyroid removal I have had hair loss.  It is not horrible but it is a full drain after every shower.  Never  used to be that much.  Thankfully I have a thick head of hair so you couldn't tell.  They recently lowered my does to 112 from 125.  I'll have to see if that makes a difference.Good Luck. ShelbySCS Mon, 16 Jun 2008 00:00:00 GMT Anemia can also cause hair loss.  I am now dealing with low levels of iron reserve, but was also anemic and on iron therapy.  They have me on iron again and someone recently mentioned that it can interfere with Levoxyl.  I wasn't aware of that and the doctors make a point to have a list of all your meds.  Guess, I better contact my endo.  Glad you mentioned it.
