need advice about lumps...

I have a lump under my jaw that is getting bigger.I have had it for about a year, it started out painless and wasnt really noticable unless I drank something cold but now it is very hard and tender and getting bigger and can be seen easily by others and is really bothering me. I have also had swollen lymph nodes on both sides of my neck and a lump over my collarbone that I have had for a couple of years it started out soft and painless but it seems a lttle bit more firm.I am also having some headaches and ear pain and night sweats on my neck and chest. I am supposed to see a neurologist in next month for my head and ear pain.I would like to know if my lumps could be a sign of something serious and any advice would be helpful...Thanks...psalms27

Now would be a good time to get a thorough physical and have your neck looked at. Your family physician should be able to direct your further based on an examination. Don't be scared, be prepared and take action for yourself. It is good you are checking on this forum as there are a lot of really wonderful folks with experience and compassion that can offer their insights.

My thoughts are with you and I wish you good health!

Thank you so much for your reply and your advice is appreciated. I have a new doctor and I have only seen him once and that is when he adviced me to see a neurologist. He said my lymph nodes were swollen and clavicle he thought it might be related to my thyroid , but my thyroid test came back normal and my mother had thyroid cancer a couple of years ago and I didnt think it was the same as her.I also showed my clavicle lump to a couple of doctors in the ER that said my lymph glands were swollen and my clavicle lump was probably a fatty tumour and didnt really pay any attention to it,the lump under my jaw has gotten worse since I seen them though. But your right I do need a good exam, I probably have more than one thing going on. I forgot to mention that I am almost 45 pre menapauasal ,bad teeth but no toothaches and I am having alot of weakness and fatigue.I appreciate everyones comments and help. Thanks psalms27

Go see an ENT ( ear, nose and throat specialist, or otolaryngologist). They will have the experience and expertise to properly diagnose the lump in your neck, Please do it sooner rather than later.Best wishes and good luckMike

I went to my doctor today and I saw the nurse practioner she felt my lump under my jaw and said it was my tonsils...I told her I would like to see an ENT and she said well for now I will give you some augmenton,I think you have a sinus ear and lung infection. She said my lymph nodes were all swollen even under my armpits but it was probably from my lungs and coughing. She told me to come back in a couple of weeks to do blood tests. She didnt do anything but feel my glands ,listen to my breathing and looked in my throat when I said ah...Now Im really disgusted because i feel like it was a waste of time.I dont know how I could have a lump for a year and now its supposed to be my tonsils.I dont have a sore throat either. But I will take the augmenton andsee what happens.I need advice!!!
