blood test and scar tissue

i have not been on in a while. my husband has been in remission for 9months.(he has stage 3b with symptoms) we go to the doctors every 3 months but they only order blood test and nothing else. my first question is if the cancer is starting to come back how soon does it show up on the blood test?when we first saw the doctors they said 3 three months chemo and no radiation but after they did a gallium scan they said surgery for one and 6 months for chemo followed by 30 days of radiation. so i am not to sure that the blood will show anything.second-before we found out about the cancer he had pain and tingling sensation done his left side. turns out he had a 9cm lymph node by his collarbone was pressing on a nerveand was causing this and that's why he had to have surgery. about 2 weeks ago he started having the same symptoms where his scar is, we went to see they doctor and she said there is a 50% chance it could come back in the same place but blood was fine. so she said to wait til next visit in three months.has anyone that has had surgery know if it is normal to start experiencing pain there year and half later?i have always appreciated the advicethank you

RE: blood test and scar tissue

Hi there I,ve had Hodgkins 3B,NS i'm now in remission for 18mos,my oncologist does a routine CT scan and blood work every 6mos,after 5yrs if everything looks good he'll just do blood work, last blood test everything was normal, but the CT scan picked-up some slighty increased lymphadenopathy in my abdomen,he immediatedly ordered a PET scan to see any FDG uptake was present,it came back negative,so it goes to show blood work does not tell all-Vinnie
