CancerCompass message board discussion started by millie57 on 6/21/2008 http://www.cancercompass.com/message-board/message/all,25294,0.htm Sun, 23 Nov 2008 00:00:00 GMT Sun, 23 Nov 2008 00:00:00 GMT http://backend.userland.com/rss RSS.NET: http://www.rssdotnet.com/ New to this forum wish I would have found sooner.I was diagnosed Oct 07 had TT in Nov 07.  3 lesions (largest 4 cm) with lymph node mets.  I had my RAI the end of Jan 08, 163 mci.  I was then started on 112 mcg of Levoxyl but have been decreased to 88 mcg right now.  I have been experiencing pain which began in my jaw, thought it might be TMJ due to stress so I ignored it.  Well I am now having pain in my right ear and neck. Has anyone else experienced this?  Could be not related at all, going to endo soon just was interested in knowing if this could be something to be concerned about.Been a crazy 8 months glad to have found all of you. Thanks   millie57 Sat, 21 Jun 2008 00:00:00 GMT Welcome to the board.  I wish I had known about it when I was going through my ordeal.  My advice------I would check it out with my ENT/surgeon.  I looked and felt like I had the mumps for several months after my TT (swollen salivary glands due to RAI), so I know that weird things can happen after RAI.  Are you seeing an endo or an oncologist?  What type of thyroid cancer did you have?  I think you should see your doctor and make sure you are OK.    Let us know!  Tara YaYaTara Sun, 22 Jun 2008 00:00:00 GMT Welcome! I agree...see what your doc has to say. I had sharp pains in my neck after the RAI and was told that was to be expected with the tissue dying from the ablation. I did not have lymph nodes involved but I wonder if the residual cells around the lymph nodes could also have been ablated during your RAI and that could be causing the pain?
