CancerCompass message board discussion started by retiredteach on 7/7/2008 http://www.cancercompass.com/message-board/message/all,25813,0.htm Sun, 23 Nov 2008 00:00:00 GMT Sun, 23 Nov 2008 00:00:00 GMT http://backend.userland.com/rss RSS.NET: http://www.rssdotnet.com/ My mother had pancreatic cancer october 2007 she had the whipple procedure done Nov. 8 2007.  After several trips back to the hospital, blood clotts in her leg,and not being able to eat she is doing fine.  She lost about 60 pounds but after a pet scan she is cancer free.  Mom is 77 years old and it is truly a blessing.  She has been living with me for the past 8 months and want to go home.  She lives by herself and I'm a little nervous about it.  However after being the sole caregiver for 8 months I need a liitle break.  At times I feel selfish about being tired and begin to feel bad.  Would I not be considered a good daughter for needing a little time to have somewhat of a life for myself?   Please give me some idea of my feelings. retiredteach Mon, 07 Jul 2008 00:00:00 GMT You and your mother deserve to do whatever suits you!
