Her cholangiocarcinoma reoccurred in March 2008 and 2 more instances of cholangiocarinoma reoccurred in June 2008. She is currently on chemotherapy. I would appreciate recommendations for cholangiocarcinoma specialists in the U.S. or abroad. Thank you. EricL Sun, 13 Jul 2008 00:00:00 GMT my wife was diagnosed in summer of 2005 . surgery removed 60% of liver w clean margins ,and we opted for wait and see approach since chemo isnt effective . march 2006 recurrence and surgery to remove some small implants along w appendicts ovary and secum. chemo followed with some neutropenia and a few hospital stays .august 2007 following ct scan appearence of small nodules ( this is how it spreads) in abdominal cavity she tried traditional chemo 5fu w cisplatin and who knows what else and tumor size grew . met w top surgeons at u of penn and they advised against since it  always comes back anyway ( surgery very extensive ) and wife already beat up .back to onc p. wissel excelent doc who advises erbitux , which breaks out skin but seem to be effective.  june 2008 ct shows tumor shrinkage or no growth in size . in meantime nexavar is suggested and since it is in pill form and has also been effective for kidney and some liver we continue the journey . it is unbelievable that it has been over three years but we TRY to stay positive  good luck Bob b Mon, 11 Aug 2008 00:00:00 GMT
