      <title>low iodine diet for the second time with more restrictions</title>
      <description>So I&amp;#39;m that lovely LID for the second time and this time i can&amp;#39;t have even uniodized salt, or egg whites. And I got sick while I was on the diet last time because the food just grossed me out. And today is only day 2 and I&amp;#39;m sick already. I can&amp;#39;t find anything appetizing. Does anyone have any suggestions for good food while on the diet? perhaps food that doesn&amp;#39;t taste like diet food. Any suggestions would be great. Last time I dropped 10 pounds in one week and this time I&amp;#39;m on it for 2 so I need to start eating without getting sick.Thank you.</description>

      <description>Have you used the cookbook at www.thyca.org?&amp;nbsp; You can eat chicken, steak, hamburger, fruit, roasted potatoes, oatmeal with raisins and honey, of course every kind of veggie you can imagine, popcorn, nuts, fruit salad, big salads with everything on it, etc. etc.&amp;nbsp; Read the cookbook.&amp;nbsp; There&amp;#39;s no reason to go hungry or get sick from not liking the food.&amp;nbsp; Be creative and positive.&amp;nbsp; It&amp;#39;s good for you, but I guess that&amp;#39;s the part you aren&amp;#39;t enjoying! :) LOL</description>

      <description>Oh yeah, get a different seasoning.&amp;nbsp; Not all seasoning combinations have salt in them.&amp;nbsp; I used garlic pepper on my steaks.&amp;nbsp; Very good.....&amp;nbsp; Garlic powder is good too.&amp;nbsp; Or use fresh seasonings; garlic, oregeno etc.&amp;nbsp;You can do it!</description>

      <description>I too am on the Lid for the second time.&amp;nbsp; Last year, post surgery and pre-RAI I was on the diet for over&amp;nbsp;5 weeks!&amp;nbsp; The endo I had didn&amp;#39;t seem to worry about his patients feelings, schedule,&amp;nbsp;or convenience.&amp;nbsp; Short version:&amp;nbsp; I found a new doc.&amp;nbsp; The old one didn&amp;#39;t believe in thyrogen, or even following the FACE or ATA guidlines for&amp;nbsp;cancer&amp;nbsp;management.&amp;nbsp;I am&amp;nbsp;one week&amp;nbsp;into Lid, with&amp;nbsp;Thyrogen and WBS scheduled for next week and the following Monday.&amp;nbsp;Last time, frying the one allowed potato in olive oil&amp;nbsp;(French fries, hash&amp;nbsp;browns, chips, whatever,)&amp;nbsp;saved me.&amp;nbsp; Tonite, my lovely bride brought home some &amp;quot;no salt added&amp;quot; Hunt&amp;#39;s ketchup.&amp;nbsp; I&amp;#39;ll probably toss it out, along with my &amp;quot;no salt added&amp;quot; peanut butter when I&amp;#39;m done, but if I have to do this again, I will certainly have it on my shopping list!&amp;nbsp; I wish I&amp;nbsp;could have found it last year.&amp;nbsp; P.S: She found it at the local grocery store;&amp;nbsp; It may be more readily available now.&amp;nbsp;Blessings to youDavid&amp;nbsp;</description>

      <description>I couldn&amp;#39;t handle the peanut butter, but I definitely used the ketchup!&amp;nbsp; I also loved sweet potatoes roasted in olive oil and cinnamon sugar...yum.&amp;nbsp; I made sure I had chicken or beef every night for dinner.&amp;nbsp; That way I never was hungry.&amp;nbsp; I made a snack mix of all of the dried fruit and natural nuts.&amp;nbsp; It was pretty good to munch on in between meals.&amp;nbsp; It&amp;#39;s sometimes a pain, but it&amp;#39;s doable.&amp;nbsp; I love fruit though so that part was easy!.Glad you&amp;#39;re doing well!Donna</description>

      <description>I added non-iodized salt to my husband&amp;#39;s no salt peanut butter and put it back in the jar and he loved that. A little goes a long way though so be careful if you try it! &amp;nbsp;Karen</description>

      <description>I, too, was pretty sick on the LID.&amp;nbsp; I did good the first week to week and a half, but going into week 3, I just couldn&amp;#39;t eat anymore.&amp;nbsp; I lived on very little food at all.&amp;nbsp; While I was into it, though, I did use a lot of garlic (people could smell me coming a mile away!).&amp;nbsp; I used the Thyca cookbook and my family and friends helped by making some meals for me.&amp;nbsp; The beef stew in there was good, it tasted like real food.&amp;nbsp; My sister was really creative, she made a fresh brushetta, wrapped chicken around it and baked it and fried potates (no skin) in olive oil.&amp;nbsp; She did another with chicken, fresh rosemary and thyme and potatoes.&amp;nbsp; The no salt ketchup with a little non-iodized salt mixed in helps with some things.&amp;nbsp; The mini meatloaves in the Thyca cookbook are good, too.&amp;nbsp; We went directly to our local butcher for the meat and chicken to be sure it was pure, nothing added.&amp;nbsp; I made the French dressing in the Thyca cookbook, too, and added honey and used it on the grill for chicken kabobs, that was good.&amp;nbsp; I understand where you are, though.&amp;nbsp; I just hit a point where there was only so much I could do and I did lose weight.&amp;nbsp; You&amp;#39;ll make it, just hang in there!Lori&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;</description>

      <description>Try stuffed peppers...&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;take a green pepper and cut it half, remove seeds and place on a baking sheet in the oven for 20 minutes (just to roast them).&amp;nbsp; Then depending on your current diet, use orzo, pasta or rice.....brown some beef, add some onion to it, garlic (or I like ms. dash seasoning, most of it is salt FREE).&amp;nbsp; Brown all of that together and then add chop up a whole tomato, unless you are able to find the canned without salt added.&amp;nbsp; combine the meat, etc with the rice, noodles, or orzo you cooked, stuff the peppers with the ingredients and place in the oven for about 5 minutes. :) &amp;nbsp; **I found an organic tomato sauce that does not have salt&amp;nbsp; in it, that i like to pour on top ofthe mixture before I put it in the oven....&amp;nbsp;good luck! </description>
