Tolerating Chemo and Radiation

I am a 55 year old non-smoking woman with the recent diagnosis of stage 3A nonsmall cell lung cancer. I am terribly sensitive to many, many medications. I have a history of not being able to take most meds that other people tolerate well. I have postponed my first round of chemo and radiation because I am worried that the drugs may do more harm than good. I am wondering about anyone with a similar history or concerns.

Thanks! Peglee

Surviving Chemo

Hi Peglee,

I am also a non smoking non small cell lung cancer female, 65 years old.

You need to tell your doctor about your concerns. Delaying Chemo and radiation is not the way to go. Your cancer needs some attention as soon as possible.

I, too, have the same problem you have. I get sooo sick from any type of medication that has been prescribed for me. But I still have to take it.

I've had two rounds of Chemo which weren't a 'walk in the park', but I'm still here. And so will you be. You have to cope with the side effects of chemo but you will be okay. Talk to your doctor and see what they say.

     Take care. Jeanne
