Great Center For Traditional But Aggressive Liver Treatment

I cannot say enough good about the university of Pittsburgh medical center - we just found out in dec. my dad had colon tumor with liver mets - discovered on Dec. 23. He took 4 6-week cycles of 5FU/Leucavorin and avastin. His primary shrunk so much so that they had trouble locating it when they went to remove. The DOZENS of liver lesions were reduced to 2 - all resectable with a lobectomy. He never missed a day of work and was in good physical condition prior to this one doozie of a medical issue. We were told the best place for the best results and aggressive surgery was UPMC in Pittsburgh. Dr. Geller there is an awesome liver surgeon - dad will do clean up chemo, but all in all, they got it all - thanks to Dr. Geller's true ability, and his 14 lymph nodes studied were all clear! www.livercancercenter.upmc.com is a wealth of info for anyone searching. Stay positive and believe all things are possible with great doctors, a positive outlook and prayers of those you love.
