is a Polyp a Sign of Cancer?

Hi everyone,

I'm 30 years old and had about 6 years ago early stage cervical cancer.Because I wanted children I had a cone biopsy done, and had only one pap after that showed no cancer. I went on to have two girls who are now 2 and 3 years old. Recently I went to my gyno for a pap(haven't had one in two years) and he found what he called a polyp on my cervix. He cut it off right there and sent it for biopsy. I have been having bleeding between periods and terrible lower back pain, but I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism which could be the reason for my period problems although my doc doen't think so. Anyway, I got a call from my doctor's office yesterday to tell me to come in to discuss the results of my biopsy, and my pap. Is there a chance I could have cancer? The nurse told me to come in asap, so i made an appointment for tuesday morning. I'm really nervous, but I want to be prepared for the worst, so any input you folks out there can give would be appreciated. Thanks in advance ...Zoe
