Looking For Answers in Canada

Hello.

I am a Canadian looking for more information and
resources in Canada on behalf of my mother who was
recently diagnosed with Bile Duct Cancer. She had
surgery this past Monday and we are waiting to see if
the cells have spread to the portal vein. I want to be
proactive so.... if there is anyone out there from
Canada who has dealt with anyone in the Cdn
medical system I would love to hear from you. I am
trying to arm myself with names of Cdn doctors, and
basic information in case we need another opinion. I
realize that time is of the essence with this type of
cancer which is why I want to start formulating a Plan
B if it becomes necessary.
Thanks,

Lisa

Hopital St-Luc in Montreal, I was told that the specialists for that kind of cancer were there, in Canada there and I think in Vancouver also, but I don't know which hospital.

I really hope it'll serve, good luck

And I forgot to tell you, the name of the doctor at hopital St-luc is Dr. Lapointe, but I think he's more a specialist in surgery for that type of cancer, anyways...

Also, hopital Royal-Victoria in Montreal also, There's specialist for transplantation there...I'm really not sure of what I advance, there's a dr. there, I don't know his name, it's a greek or russian name I think...

Klatskin

Hi Lisa
My father has a klatskin tumor, and I find most information out there is not very good.
The only thing positive is that it is a slow growing tumor.
As for doctors in Canada, I believe there are only 3 or 4 surgeons that specialize in this type of operation.
One name that is very well known is Dr Heart at St Josephs hospital in Toronto.
Unfortunatly for my dad his was in-operable.
I wish you and your mom the best.

regards;
Carmine
