Essential Thrombocytosis

Treatment has included hydrea or alegrinon[or both]. Platelet count is reasonable stable, but [whether related or not] a leg ulcer has appeared on each lower calf [since Feb '05]. One of these has almost closed but the other persists. Treatment has included debriding, various pressure wraps, silver-based ointments, colloids. We are really discouraged at the lack of closure -- any recommendations?
