Cheaper Tarceva

My father has stage 3nsc lung cancer. He has gone through 3 months of radiation & chemo. Medicaid does not cover drugs. He was diagnosed the end of May '05. Social gives him less than $1000. He is on a feeding tube and 40# under weight. His meds cost $550.00. Now we are told chemo will no longer work. Need tarceva....$2000 a month!! We tried to get on the med plan & was to he made too much money!! He has not worked since March '05 and can't pay his med bills as it stands. He says,"It too expensive to stay alive!" PLease can someone help us? I can't make ends meet as it is & now housing my dad. I refuse to give up. Anyone know of another source to get this med? I am desparate to keep my dad alive!!

Have you gone directly to the manufacturer.
They sometimes have programs for this type of situation

Best of Luck

Sorry about your father, try logging onto
help@patientadvocate.org for possible help for med and paying medical expenses. also a toll free number is 1-800-532-5274. Your oncologist should be able to apply to the maker, to see if you qualify for help. Don't give up, i was where your father is and now a two year survivor, on iressa
