Herpes Simplex

First of all for prevention of herpes, stay away from peanuts, wheat, and chocolate. You can eat some, but not too often. Also, Lysine is very good for prevention. Eating alkaline foods(meaning it leaves a non-acidic ash after digested) also helps. Foods such as all greens, tomatoes, fruits, white potatoe, red potatoes. almonds, banannas, beets, carrots, celery, molasses, onions, rutabagas, watermelon, radishes. Acidic foods (meaning these foods leave an acid ash after digestion) such as anything white, except for potatoes, meats, milk, cheese, coffee, crackers, eggs, fish, imacaroni, peanut butter, dried peas, sugar, salmon, sardines, shrimp, spaghetti, soft drinks walnuts, and tea.

Estrogen is also a cause, anytime you have fever, you may be likely to have outbreak. That time of the month for women is also a cause. Belive me, eating habits will almost reduce the outbreaks, but no doctor will tell you this because I don't think they know it. They like to sell medicine.

Herpes Simplex

It is not uncommon for patients undergoing chemotherapy or radiation to develop recurrances of their herpes or to develop Shingles (a reactivation of the herpes virsus that causes chickenpox). This happens because of the immunosuppression. Treatments can include Acyclovair, topical anesthetics using lidocaine or benzocaine. With sores that occur in the mouth similiar to cold sores, coating the sores with a liquid antacid before trying to eat will decrease the discomfort but should be rinsed off after eating. Would suggest swishing a solution of 1 tsp salt in 8 ounces of water to be used as the rinse. Make a fresh supply of the solution daily. Hope this helps.
