Cost of The Treatment

Dear Friends,
My brother-in-law detected with Leukemia (AML). He is in India. My wife & I wanted to know, how much it will cost on the treatment, if we bring him here in USA...

Please advise us.

Thank you,

Cost

Thats hard to say. I guess the problem is that he has no insurance in the US and probably cant get any since he has a preexisting condition. Why not have him treated in India? How would he pay for it there? AML treatment would involve several rounds of chemo, hospital stays, office visits lab tests, etc. It would probably take a couple months if everything went smooth. I would say it could be $50,000-$100,00 if you had to pay for it.

My brother is operating on a cash basis with no insurance. Where he is you had to put down $41,000K to be seen. He went through that very quickly. You have to keep money in an account with the hospital or they will not treat you. I would guess , and again, i guess it wuold depend on where you went, closer to $200K. Call whichever hospitals that you are interested in getting him treated in and ask them. They will definately tell you a ball park figure. good luck, patty
