Husband Passed Away

My husband Donnie F. passed away Oct. 12,2005 of Pancreatic Cancer. He was 48. I would like everyone to know that he was given 5 months to live and fought the cancer for 2 1/2 years. Chemo worked in stablizing the cancer for 1 1/2 years, then we did a clinical trial. My husband had a great atitude during the whole time and believed God would help us through it all. I really believe Donnie's fight kept him going. When he finally got tired to fight he told me God was ready for him. He made me stronger than ever. I felt like he was here for me instead of me being here for him. But I loved him dearly and I miss him alot. I will continue the fight to help people with Pancreas Cancer.

a Reason to Fight

Thank you so much for you message. My husband was just diagnosed with stage 1V pancreatic cancer. He is 72 years old and also has renal failure do to an autoimmune disorder. He also wants to fight so I will tell him about the 2 1/2 years you and your husband had together.

Did you include any alternative treatments in deal with this cancer? Did your husband have chemotherapy?

I hope these questions are not too difficult for you at this very sad time. I lost my late husband 8 years ago to acute respiratory disorder so I have a sense of what you must be going through. I found a bereavement support group to be very helpful. Time, talking, and tears, and eventually it doesn't hurt quite so much.
