Gynecological help?

I don't know if anyone else has been in this position, I pray not. For two years my doctor has done several cervical biopsies that were malignant. He could not figure out why it kept coming back, he insisted it was from an STD, which might have been a possibility, except I have not made love in over eight years, and I did not have an STD when I had my wonderful son at that time. He said I was crying over nothing, I didn't cry during the surgery, what was wrong now? I told him even though I have a very high pain tolerance, this big lump in my left side of the stomach was like being stabbed. He felt it, did a biopsy, but said he couldn't help, no one could, because I need a total hysterectomy because the fist size cancer that started on my left ovary is now all the way through both fallopian tubes, ovaries, cervix and uterus. It hurts; I'm doubled over most of the day. Does anyone have any suggestions? I only have Medicare and the doctors I've gotten ahold of here don't want to deal with Medicare even though I have part A and B. Sorry to ramble, he gives me three weeks before it spreads into my respiratory system he says, then I'll die right away. I want to fight this, but I don't know what to do except pray that God can get me to a doctor before I die, I know when it's time, and it isn't time for me to go yet. Thanks for listening to me ramble. Love, hugs and prayers, Dove

I don't know where you live, but you should go to your county office building right away and speak to a social worker. In my state (NY) you cannot be denied medical treatment because of inability to pay. You need help ASAP and there are funds that every hospital receives from the federal government under a provision called Hill-Burton for people that are unable to pay for services. God bless & I wish you well. Andrea

I would be on the phone to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. They have ways to help even if you can't pay so call and see what they can do. Hope this helps?

Thank you all.

Thank you all very much. I did try our local "county hospital" and was turned down because of inability to pay, just like all the others, I will try Rochester though. Thank you all so much, I'll let you know what I find out.

Love, hugs and prayers,

Shannon, Please do not give up hope. Please seek the advice of a social worker or your county office for advice regarding a facility. I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer stage 3C in 4/2000. My cancer had spread from my ovaries, into my fallopian tubes, on my uterus and my cervix. I had a complete hysterectomy and they even found it in a lymph node near my aorta. It was bad. However, I am alive and doing well to talk about it three years later. I have been on chemotherapy ever since, but I have continued working part-time ... I am raising 2 beautiful daughters ... and have a wonderful husband. I swear it is my positive attitude and the support of my family/friends that has gotten me through all of this for this long!! My thoughts and prayers are with you!!! - Debbie

I am just starting the ovarian cancer process. I tried to get my insurance to approve my treatment at the Cancer Center in Tulsa but they don't accept it. They do accept Medicare though (just not the cost to get there). Please tell me where you live and maybe I can help with a flight out there. God Bless

Ovarian Cancer

Hi, I am new to this sight and realize your post was from a year ago. But I am curious as to how your treatment has been going? My mom has ovarian cancer and has been told the chemo isn't helping.

God Bless
