2nd Leep...

Hello. I had my first abnormal pap when I was 19. They performed the colposcopy and biopsy and determined that I needed to have a procedure done. Cryosurgery was the first attempted. It was unsuccessful, so I had a LEEP 6 months after. It came back that they "got it all". Last week I went in for my 6 month pap smear. I got the call today that it was abnormal. I am scheduled in two weeks for another colposcopy and biopsy, which will be followed with my second LEEP. What I don't particularly understand is why I am having to have the procedure done again if they "got it all" the first time. Does this mean that they didn't get it all or it came back or what? I am so confused. Also, does anybody else feel emotionally drained from dealing with these situations?

I'm Going Through The Same Thing.

Hello.....

I know exactly what you mean. I'm having the same problem. as a matter-of-fact, you can read my discussion under "abnormal pap just 3 months after a leep".

I dont know whats's going on. But I was told the same thing, they got everything out and all the margins are clear. Now i have an abnormal (a typical) pap again three months later. They want me to have another colposcopy w/scraping.

I dont understand this. if you get a chance, read my story. I'm sure you'll find it ammusing.
