Information

I was given the news of having MM in Nov. 2003.I went thru 6 months of VAD , 3 rounds of Pheresis, dex twice a month for 7 months, high doses of chemo and a stem cell transplant(my own)I have been in remission for 17 months when I started getting bone pain again.I go and have blood work every month along with a 5 hr. IV of Pamidronate. My dr. told me last month that my M protein had spiked from 1 to 4. I was very surprised at this news that I didn't think to ask what that means for me.Can anyone tell me if this is the beginning of myeloma coming back? I should also say that at diagnoses I was told it wasIgG kappa MM stage 3A

That would be the concern. Hopefully your physician ordered a bone scan, a urine collection and some lab work to identify the problem.
