Anyone out there using and combinations of Avastin. My father was diagnosed with GBM Grade IV in August and has completed his resection and first round of radiation / Temodar. He had a good AGT test and Duke put him on Temodar for 2 more months. Avastin will be an option after the 2 months are up and I wanted to get a sense of how that is working for others. She tried several therapies which did not work or worked for a short time. Duke started her on Avastin and CPT 11 in June 2005. It also worked for about 3 months. She passed away in October of 2005, 15 months after the diagnosis. Everyone's experience is different. I wish you and your father well. Caregiverinnc Wed, 21 Dec 2005 00:00:00 GMT I am also interested in info. on Advastin and BCNU for treatment of GBM stage 4.  My father has undergone 2 resections in 3 years.  After the first surgery he used Temador and Radiation for 1 year, no reoccurance for 8 months after treamtent ended.  He had his 2nd resection in may 2006.  Was put on BCNU and Phlimide, after 2 months 2 tumors were seen on MRI.  He was then put on the combimation of Avastin and CPT11 for the past  4 months, shrinkage of tumors occured on the first MRI (2 months of treatment) then last MRI showed tumor growth of app. 1 cm. Now they are going to try Avastin and BCNU with a new MRI to be done next month.  Does anyone have any info on the combination of BCNU and Avastin??  Would love to hear from you.
