Inoperable Nsclc

Hello Sae6099, My wife was diagnosed with nsclc 4/2/04 - Stage 3. Went thru the chemo treatments - 4 of them and then the 8 weeks of daily radiation and weekly chemo last fall. Last Feb 16th - they found that it had spread into the liver and bone. Now we're at Stage IV - b and they told us she has 2 yrs. She's 57 and we've been married 36 yrs. now - so I honestly know how your feeling. Don't ever give up ! She's been on Tarceva for over 10 months now and just last week they "think" they see another hot spot on her rib bone - - - - but since it's very small and there's no pain in that area, they're going to just keep a close eye on it! My wife and I looked into alternative treatments and in the end decided to stay with M.D.Anderson and prayer. She's doing OK overall - experiencing a lot of pain that the Dr's are at a lost to explain - so they've got her on Oxycotin and OxycotinIR and it really helps - extremely fatigued and up & down emotionally. But we're not giving up ! Talk to you family, your friends, your church and of course, your Dr's for support or help. We'll put your husband and "you" on our prayer list ! Hang in there and live each day to the fullest !
