Just Diagnosed

I was notified on December 10th of a large mass on my left lung. I have been through numerous tests and last Thursday it was confirmed that I have non-small cell lumg cancer. It is non-operable because it has spread to other lung and I will be having chemo. It is all very unreal to me but is on my mind every waking moment.

My children are very supportive but I seem unable to confide my fears and doubts to them (ever the protective mother).

What to do?

How old are they? I would be honest with them if they are old enough. Do you have any questions about your cancer? Do you know a stage yet?

Small Cell

I would really like to know where you were treated. My best friend has just been diagnosed with adenocatcinoma this is non small cell lung cancer. This has also spread to the liver and adrendalin gland. She has also been diagnosed with breast cancer which is no related to the lung cancer. She starts her first chemotherapy treatment on 3/27 she will be treated with carboplatin and genzar. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. I have been trying to find anything I can so I can try to help her in some way. I lost my mother to lung cancer and lost my 23 yr old son last year. I can not bear to lose my best friend since age 10.
