Treatment Has Been Delayed

My dad has been diagnosed with stage 3 non small cell lung cancer. He was supposed to start treatment today which was going to be radiation first, then chemo. The radiologist thought this would be ok.
The oncologist is out of town this week.Well,
he went to the cancer center and they told him that they couldn't do chemo without radiation so now he starts both next Monday. I am upset at the delay and worried that the tumor will spread further. Has anyone else been through this?

Treatment Has Been Delayed

Yes, my husband was diagnosed with head & neck ca. which had metastisized to 2 lymph nodes in the neck In the hopes of finding the primary site ( they never did) he had to undergo more biopsies, scopes etc So even though he was first seen to discuss treatment Dec 22, he did not begin chemoradiation until Feb 23 We were very worried that it would spread more etc but in hindsight his treatment went well & his first scans were clean Have faith in the doctors but do not hesitate to ask questions We had a notebook each time we saw the doctors!
