Hair Loss

I have a very close friend who has recently began chemo. She had a beautiful head of hair that she felt was one of her best features. She was heartsick when it began to fall out by the hands full.

She hates wearing the wigs and she has tried scarves and hats. None of these were really comfortable for long periods of time. Something else she realized is that even when she was home she needed something on her head because even when it was warm outside the air conditioner made her head cold.

I was looking for a way to help solve her problem and lift her spirits.I found a site on the web that (www.cozycap.com) offers caps that have witty little says printed on them. I bought her a package of three that have sayings on them about hair loss. She loved them - and she looks really cute in them. She wears them alot - she tells me she even sleeps in them when the air conditioner is on.

Going Thru The Same Thing..

i just read your message and - i really want to thank you for writing it because i am going to get on that site and get some of those hats.. I am going thru chemotheraphy too and going thru the same as your friend. my hair is falling out by the hand fulls.. nobody ever prepares you for this and it is very devasting to see the day to day changes.. i got some turban type hats from the cancer center where i get my treatments and i also have a catalog with hats that i can order.. i am hoping by geting some that they will help me to look and feel better.. i have 5 more treatments to go and its only going to get harder as it all eventually falls out.. which in my case will bevery soon..

I find myself in tears all the time and try not to but with two small children its hard for them to see me with something on my head..
