I'm done!! It's a good feeling

I have finished my chemo a.c.f.!!!!! I finished my radiation!!!!!! I feel GREAT! There are times when I freak out for a minute/day when I may go through something like a sore neck. I ask can it be? Is it in me again? Did it travel and the doctor missed it? I have to realize that they got it all. I did just end my treatments. I received a good bill of health. So in time I won't freak out as much. There will always be that little voice, that is OK. It's best to be on top of things. I now treat my body inside and out a lot better and I'm happy doing so. TREAMENTS DO END AND WE DO FEEL BETTER AFTER!!!

Nutrition After Treatment

Dear Anita,
I was a vegetarian for over 52 years and will continue to to be one even after my sugery and treatments. Organic food is the safest and worth the extra expense. The only change that I made to eliminate as much soy product as possible especially since I read that it contains phtyoestrogens and I was diagnosed with uterine carcinosarcoma in 2004. I have to be careful about my Vitamin K intake because I am on anticoagulation for blood clots and this vit is the antidote to the blood thinner. As a confirmed veggie it is difficult for me to find unlimited food with my diet restriction of dark green leafy vegetables...but they have very nutritional value especially vitamin K and iron...also it is important to read labels on the food for added preservatives, food dyes, etc. I hope this helps...fruits such as bluberries, raspberries, strawberries and cranberries are a good source of antioxidants and can be used in so many recipes..also good summer fruit with vitamin A and C is cantaloupe...also keep yourself hydrated this summer with non sugary-non carbonated fluids and limit very sweet fruit juices that are high caloric...discuss a change in a diet like this one first with your doctor before attempting to become a veggie...best wishes and let's beat our disease together

It's All Finished

I know just what you are feeling with each new ache and pain...I was having severe lower back pain and freaked myself thinking it was the cancer spreading...but the MRI revealed a bulging herniated disc not cancer...was I relieved...then I had to learn that my cancer would spread to the intestines and the lungs not the spine. Every time I feel a new symptom I get nervous and run to check it out...it is normal after the trauma that we went through...Even people who never had cancer can get a herniated disc but it took some time to convince me not fear that the cancer was spreading again...after all I never want to have diabling surgery or chemo/radiation and llose my hair again...never...hope knowing that you arenot alone helps...congratulations on graduating from your treatments...on to the next phase of your life.
