Direct Leukine Injections?!

My father has stage IV melanoma. He has had 6 tumors removed (at different times) from the top of his head and also a radical neck disection. His initial tumor required a 4 inch diameter circle of skin removal and a graft. Tumors keep appearing on his head, near the graft, although the doctors tell him that he has clean edges after each surgery. To stop the tumors his doctors have began to inject Leukine directly into the tumor sites. I was very pesimistic when his treatment started, but after only 5 days the 8 tumors that they are injecting have gone down, almost non-existent. He has 10 more days of treatment. ( 5 days each, 1 month apart)
Has anyone heard of this type of treatment?

Leukine

I recently had a recurrence of melanoma and have been placed on leukine injections for the next year, alternating every 14 days. I am worried about doing it since it is not a real chemo type drug and is the immune system booster. I am curious how you dad has been over the past months! Wonderful I hope!
