Zomeda

I have bc mets to the bones and liver. I am taking Arimidex and a monthly infusion of Zomeda. The Zomeda has really helped with the bone pain I had (I have not even had to take any pain medication since I began it). But, when I receive the infusion of Zomeda, I get sick for two days (flu like symptoms, headaches, vomiting). The first time they pushed Zomeda is 15 minutes; the second time they pushed in 30 minutes (based on a recommendation I'd seen on this website) to see if it made a difference. It didn't. Is anyone else taking Zomeda had this experience? How are you handling the side affects?

Zometa

My mother with stage IV RCC had her first injection of Zometa a week ago today (30 minute push). She said her bone pain seems to be worse. Any experiences with that?

RE: Zomeda

I just started the same regimen- daily arimidex and monthly infusion of Zomeda. I had quite a bit of bone and muscle pain after the first treatment but things have been improving- I get a weekly acupuncture treatment to help with side effects. During my first bout with cancer 8 yeasr ago, I did acupuncture to offset A/C effects and never had a day of nausea- it also helped wityh fatigue. just be sure to go to a good acupuncturist who has worked with cancer patients before. It should help you!
