Sorafenib

Its me again MTAJ57; And yes I am still here, after about 90 days of sorafenib it looks its its doing its job, still have some side effects, but a day or two off seems to ease them, feet and hands are sore as heck, but benadril has eased the itching quite well. Just had a new CT and the doc said I am stable with nothing new and nothing growing in my lungs for 3 months. I asked him for the first time, if I would be here in a year, and he said yes, if I continue to respond to the drug. Also, I am sorry the people are out $5900 for sorafenib, why not try it again, the side effects are better then then being dead, plus $5900 for a $4333 bottle of sorafenib is outrageous...Mel

Nexavar

You are very correct. I also had a CT-Scan and my tumors were also shrinking. I also have a problem with my feet and hands. At the present time, I am taking one pill a day. This seems to be were my feet can tolerate it. If I go to two pills, my feet become very sore. I will be having another CT-Scan in two weeks and I will find out whether my original results were for real or a one time wonder.

Side Effects

Your response hit the nail on the head. Would you rather have sore feet or be dead! In my situation, I am taking one-pill a day. Even two pills within a couple of days causes severe discomfort. I am schedulded for a CT-Scan in a couple of weeks and I will find out whether my reduced dosage is working

For Happy......about Sorafenib

Hi..
I am 65 and had my L kidney removed last April. Recently a tumor has shown to have grown back in the same area and I am on Sorafenib. Every place else looks good for now.
I am getting bad reactions....face is so sore and red...and very itchy scalp and also my blood pressure was so high I ended up in the hospital.
So now I am on 2 pills a day....but still have these side effects.

How is it going for you by taking 1 pill a day? How long have you been on it?
I've only been on it for about a week or so.

Any info is very much appreciated....thanks.

I had an angio sarcoma removed from my scalp last March I had nothing showing on cat scan after that. I have had my lungs collapse after radiation, three times. My recent cat scan shows lesions on spleen and liver. They now are offering me the trial study. I read that you have very itchy scalp, and high Blood Pressure. Others mention sore feet and hands. I suppose these things are not life threatening. but at this time I still feel o.k. will It stop one from driving, sleeping? I guess I havent faced the alternatives yet. Hope all is still going well for you. ..need some encouragement, B.King
