Urachal Adenocarcinoma

I was diagnosed with urachal adenocarcinoma during the birth of my son in 2003. During the c-section, the surgeon saw the tumor on my bladder. After the diagnosis, I had a partial bladder, urachal ligament and belly button removal. I'm 2 1/2 years out and thankfully CT scans and cystoscopes has not shown anything. I'm scheduled to have a PET scan next week, as my physician at Memorial sloan kettering in NYC thinks that it may give us more information. My husband and I are thinking about trying to have another baby. I was wondering if anyone out there has any information about pregnancy hormones and cancers - specifically urachal adenocarcinoma. All the physicians I have asked doesn't think that the hormones affects this type of cancer but since it's such a rare cancer, I have a hard time feeling confident about their answers.

Urachual Chemo Trial

Please have your dr. at Sloan speak to Dr. Dan Petrylak at Columbia Presbytrian in NYC. MOst likely they know one another. Dr. P is doing a trial that is including my sister (a 4 year urachual survivor). She has already been thru 5FUL, irinotecan and avastin protocal. I hope your tests are clean. But, should you need any treatments in the future, please have your doctor conncect with Dr. P. He will have alot to add.
