My Story

On August 13th, 2002...My Dad died of Lung Cancer. Three months later on November 23rd, 2002 one of my best friends was killed in a terrible car accident, SHE HAD JUST TURNED SIXTEEN in September. Now, my bestest friend Patti who I am even closer with than ever before was diganoised with Cervical Cancer. I am totally devastated. Right now, they don't know much of anything. The doctors are supposed to do more tests on May 5th & then I'll know more from there. Please Pray for my Best Friend. Is there any advice someone can give me, I'd really appreciate it.

Her name is Patti & She's been losing weight, she's always tired & she always has the pale sickly look on her face now. Anyone that knows or has Cervical Cancer please give me some info! God Bless You!

Dear Sara,
So sorry to hear about all your losses, and of course, your best friend being ill now. I have no words except to believe in yourself and the love for her as well as those who have already passed on. There are no words, actually to express to someone like you except, know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Do all you can to help your friend, but do not neglect yourself. Eat right and get a lot of rest and know that God is with you, although I understand if you don't feel that right now. I don't believe God gives us these awful things to bear in our lives. I do believe God is our partner in all aspects of our lives and that he only wants us to live long and prosperous lives. I will not preach, just am lending out a hand for you to hold. Find some folks who do love you and allow them to embrace you with love and friendship to help you get through these trying times.

I wish you the best, always, sincerely, Angie

Hi Sara,
You've certainly been through a lot,and I want to express my sympathy for your loss. I don't know too much about cervical cancer, I have colon cancer. I have been dealing with this since Nov. of 2000. I guess the best thing to do is to take things one step at a time, and to try to stay as positive as you can for your friend. Cancer is a frightening thing, and not knowing is awful, but once you have more information, it becomes easier to deal with. Did your friend have surgery? I know I wasn't feeling too well for a while after my colon surgery. I take multivitamins, and a calcium supplement now. Patti should check with her doctor about taking any supplements. I will keep you and your friend in my thoughts any prayers. Please let us know how she is doing. Take care of yourself too. Gook Luck, Julie C.
