Can't Eat

Dear Sparkles22, I have liver cancer which is also uncurable. Not wanting to eat can be caused by chemo and liver failure. You really need to talk with a doctor or hospice nurse as they need the know his whole physical condition before recommending anything. I can tell you what I do, is eat little snacks/meals during the day and no matter what I keep on drinking plenty of fluids. There is times I tell myself I can't but push myself to do it any way. But your father may not be dealing with this situation as others as we all choose mentally to fight all the way or not at all. Then there comes a point where we all turn off and realize the reality and pray to god for relief of pain and suffering and to just open the gates to the kingdom of peace. You can buy equate protein supplement at Wal Mart IT's Same as Ensure but less expensive and make smoothies of different flavors blueberry, banana, rasberry, chocolate and ect. Using a straw and sipping until gone makes me feel better. I am in the mind set to go a far as I can, but realized my life is now in the hand of the lord and whatever he decides will be fine with me, even though it hurts knowing I will have to leave my loved ones my spirit will surround them for eternity. Again, get some professional advice, talk with freinds and loved ones. It sounds like you have taken on the primary role of caring for your father; you will need help and don't be afraid to ask , call, insist, God Bless you and your father this journey is a painful one for all to deal with. However, look around at the world, eventually all will pass and life will go on. But when it hits home it is rough. Keep your chin up and don't be afraid of crying on someones shoulder. Again bless you both!

Liver Cancer Guru

Dr. David Geller at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) is a miracle worker so before you say anything is incurable, drop him an email or call for a consult. He can find hope where many give up.

He is an amazing doctor and even better person - seriously - anything with the liver - call him!
