Velcade

My husband is age 75 he has had MM for 2 years. He has been on 2 different chemo's. First was oral, 2nd was VAD. The vad caused Neuropathy in both feet, legs, & hands. Vry painful. In June he was put on Velcade. After 4 treatments he started having trouble with bowels. He became bloated, could not pass gas, or elimate his waste. After 2 trips to Emergency Room and hospital stay of 3 days, the drs. told us the peristolis was paralized due to velcade. The velcade brought his count from 4300 to 137, which the drs. could not believe. They did 4 blood counts to make sure. He now has to use glycolax, Milk of Mag, on a daily basis. We are very concerned this might be permanent. Has anyone had this experience? We feel God has been instrumental in counts going down. He just used the drs. to get the job done. My husband just started on Neutrotin, 100mm. for neutropathy. Seems to help. If you have had any similar symptons, please answer. Thank you
