Constant Pain

I was diagnosed with CML July 2004. After a year on Gleevec I'm no longer in remmision, I've started Interferon 6mil shots every day. Since I was diagnosed I have had bone and joint pain that is only getting worse by the day. Could my bone and joint pain become cancerous???
I'd appreciate any info that anyone could give me.
Thank You,
Jude

Cml

Dear Jude,
I do not know if the joint pain can cause cancer, but am hoping that it does not. I have an 11 year old w/CML who was diagnosed Sept. of 2005. She, at this moment, is still in what her docs call "remission". Anyway, she has had joint pain, mainly in her legs for the past year. It is not constant, but seems to come more often thses days. I wish you the best. I am always praying for a cure and those w/CML.

Thank You, JudeHi Jude: I see your message was almost a year ago. I would just like to say that I hope they have found something better like Sprycel for you. I know people who have gotten into a quick remission being they could not tolerate the Gleevec. I am on Gleevec since Oct. of 2000. Remission since July of 2001. There are things that work, and so much research for even better treatments. If you want to send me a message please do.

Cindy;I have a 15 year old daughter who was diagnosed with CML in 5/05.She was initially on Gleevec but the side effects were intolerable. She is currently on Sprycel and still having side effects that wax and wane and make it difficult for her ot attend school. Her side effects include muscle and tissue pain in her legs, neck, and back and burning pain in her veins that radiates. She also has fatigue and nausea. She has acid refux disease and depression both of which preceeded the cancer diagnosis, and is on meds for those conditions which do have some interaction with the Sprcel. How is your daughter doing and have you experienced any of these problems?
