Capecitabine

My husband, 48 years old, had stage 4 pancreatic cancer with mets to liver. He has been on gemcitabine since last Aug, now told it is not working, he has increased lesions on his liver and a new lesion on his spine. They want to start him on capecitabine oral chemo. Any info from anyone taking this med would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry to hear about your husband. Capecitabine is oral 5FU. I would ask about using Gemzar combinations. Gemzar with Tarceva, Avastin, Erbitux, and oxaliplatin have been or are being used in trials. Other than that, make sure he is pain free and consider antidepressants.
God Bless.
