Confused about sugar

I spoke to my wife's doctor about the info I found on sugar and how cancer feeds on this...according to him nothing has been proven that by eliminating sugar this will stop the cancer from growing...because I'm concerned that the boost drink and boost pudding she eats have 23 grams of sugar in each serving. And if this is true why am I giving this to her. In short---According to him it doesn't work that way, what she is eating is not going to make the cancer grow more.she can eat what ever she wants... He doesn't suggest eating junk food, but the boost is fine and the foods she is currently eating. what's right and what's wrong???? My head is ready to explode!!!! I don't doubt my doctor's ability in treating my wife; from what I researched he has taken the right approach in her chemo treatments

Confused About Sugar

I have been doing a lot of research on the effects of nutrition on the treatment of cancer. Two books that I found on Amazon I would highly recommend and both books say sugar is a no-no.
The first book is "Beating Cancer With Nutrition" by Patrick Quillin, PHD, RD, CNS and the second is "The What To Eat if You Have Cancer" by Maureen Keane, MS and Daniella Chace, MS. My advice is just go to Amazon.com and pull up these books and read the reviews concerning them. I have hopes that by following their recommendations I can slow down the progression of my lymphoma. God Bless and good luck to you and your wife.

Sugar

I was also told about sugar. That was one of the first things they told me at the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Zion, IL. Cancer feeds on sugar. It is not only white sugar which is the worst, but also honey. You also have to limit other high glycemic foods that will boost insulin. White and Whole wheat flour are both high glycemic foods. White being the worst. There are other more healthy choices for a suppliment drink like those from Shaklee (I rely on Shaklee for my own nutrition because I trust them but they are very expensive) Relive also has a powder nutrition drink that I tried once from my chiropractor. It tasted OK and wasn't as expensive and had a lot of nutrients in it. It is impossible to cut out all sugar, believe me I am trying, but in our heavily processed world it sometimes can't be helped. The key is to cut down, and never eat sugar alone. There are other things to avoid like trans fats and you would benifit by talking to the CTCA Naturalist or Nutritionist. They were awesome.
