Follow up From my Doctor

I posted a few weeks ago about swollen lymph nodes behind my ear & a redness. I went to the ENT who told me it wasn't swollen lymph nodes but a cyst I was most likely born with that was infected. He put me on antibiotics and told me to come back in two weeks. Well I just came back and I feel like I was my freagin time. Now he says it is most likely swollen lymph nodes (duh, didn't I tell him that??) and that now it appears that there is a rash that might be spreading. So my question here is it started out as swollen and tender lymph nodes and redness that is no longer tender, that worries me. THey are still swollen, maybe not as much but its the rash that is making me nervous as well because I can't find any info on this and I am scared that it might be lymphnoma. Does anyone know if a rash is linked to lymphnoma? I am so worried all over again. It feels like the swelling has gone down a little but I can feel the lymph nodes and the red bumps seem to be spreading. Can anyone give me some insight here on what this can be? Last year I did go to the dermatologist for blotchiness on my face near my mouth and she put me on heavy duty antibiotics and some topical stuff that worked and I am not sure if that is what it is. I have an appt on Tuesday.

Thoughts

lymphoma can sometimes have a rash.

other symptoms can include fatigue, itchiness, enlarged lymph nodes, weight loss, fevers, chills, night sweats, hot flashes.

usually the way these things work is that one of two things happen. if the problem goes away in a month or so, and does not recur, nothing further is usually done. if the problem does not resolve with time and treatment, or if it resolved but recurs, a biopsy is done and a tissue diagnosis is made.

Lymphnodes

The nodes seem a bit smaller today but the rash falres up more towards the evening, like something is irritating it. I don't have night sweats or fever or chills, I am fatigued but I am also a new mom to a 4 month old and I have another child so I am doing alot of running around. I am losing weight very slowly but I am on Jenny Craig. The only other symptoms I am having is sweating but only if I am running around dong stuff. I am nervous because now I feel like I have a small lump or swollen lymph node in my right breast. DH felt it but he said it seems like I have them in both. He thinks they are glands but the one in my right breast is slightly larger. I am due to get my period the end of this week and maybe it could be milk ducts, being that I am only 4 months post pardum. I don't know if my mind is playing tricks on me but I am so nervous that I just want to cry. My son's Baptism is today and I don't think I can think of anything else right now. I guess we see what the dermatologist says on tuesday and meanwhile make an appointment with my regular doctor tomorrow for a complete work up and blood testing and to see if I need a mammo.

Follow up With Dermatologist

I knew I was wasting my time with that male ENT who knows nothing about pregnancy and I should have seen the female ENT. I went to the dermatologist and she told me that it is a swollen lymph node most likely because of the bad sinus infection I had and also because of the pregnancy hormones still leaving my body. She said it takes two years to recover from a pregnancy and thats why they don't want you to have babies to close together. Pregnancy does alot to a women's body and she thinks this is just another side effect. She gave me a topical cream for the rash, told me not ot play with the area, lymph nodes are very sensative to touch and swell easily and to take ibuprofin for the swelling once a day for a few weeks until its gone. She said if it doesn't go down then she might want to biopsy it. But you see, I knew I should have started with her first before that damn ENT telling me its a cyst I was born with blah blah fooie!
