Red Eyes While Taking Tarceva

I started taking Tarceva (150 mg) 5 months ago. I have lost a lot of hair (head, arms, legs, etc), grown a lot of facial hair, sores on my hands and feet, iratated mounth and nasal cavaty, but my real problem is my eyes. They are sooo red and iratated. I have been going to the eye doctor and he gives me liquid tears, gels and ointments, but to no avail. Today he started me on antibiotics. Has any one else had this problem and if so, what did you do to clear it up? I did not get the acne on my face or head, but the eye doctor seems to think that maybe I have acne on my eye lids. This has been going on for 4 1/2 months.

Red Eyes

Yes, I developed the rash on the inside of my lids which made my eyes very soar and red. I've been on Tarceva for 10 months. Lost about 50% of my hair which is growing back after 7 months. I still get the rash, especially in the heat but it's not as bad as it's initial outbreak. My eyes did get much better though I have to admit they feel somewhat red & soar occationally...but it is managable. All the symptoms like my taste buds changing, my nose lining, all improved after a while. I actually find some humor in the fact after losing all this hair on my head (which is now growing back a thick black) my nose started growing long black curly hair I absolutely HAD to do something about...go fingure. One thing I did before I lost all my eyebrows was I had a permanent make-up artist tatoo them on so when they grew back (which they mostly have), they would be in the right place. I wish you luck with this process, the side effects do improve. Good Luck,

Red Itchy Eyes

I am so glad to look in my message board to see if anyone has been suffering with red itchy eyes, while being on Tarceva. No, this isn't great news to hear, but my mom has been taking Tarceva since July 05 and for the last couple of months she has been having these systoms as well, and seems to be having haedaches. Has anyone been having headaches?

Mom has always had problems with dry eyes, but lately it seems to be more bothersome than before she has to makesure if she goes out side she has to wear her sunglass if not her eyes start burning. The doctor said they will treat her on some allergy pills to see if her symptys go away and if not they will run some test.

One good thing is mom had a CAT SCan and it came back norma....

Waiting to hear any feed back.

Thanks

Tarceva

Sorry to hear about all the side effects of Tarceva, but are you getting a good result from the medication? I've been on it for a year and hope it keeps working for a long time.

Tarceva Stuff

I've been on Tarceva for about 6 weeks, skin like an elephant, drippy nose, dry mouth, some diarrhea, but the worst at this point are my eyes, itchy and burning. After reading of other folks' stuff, such as hair loss, guess I shouldn't complain. I've lost my hair twice, but Tarceva isn't doing it, thank God. I'm going to the oncologist on the 14th, and I'll see if he wants to do something about the eyes. How do I manage to have this message appear so everyone can read it?
