Alternative Med.

Hi,
I sincerely suggest you get the Ty Bollinger book, Cancer, Step
Outside the Box. Also, go to Bill Henderson's website. He's very
helpful too. Ty also has a site and he is extremely kind. I'm sure
you could find answers starting there.
Sincerely,

Alternative Medicine

I have been treated by a naturopathic physician who is able to
determine which systems/organs need to be addressed. Many of
the herbs, minerals, techniques etc. that we read about are good,
but what works for one may not work for another. I did try to go
at it myself, follow what Bill Henderson or others have
recommended, but was not completely feeling healthy. I
encourage you to find a N.D. who is licensed by one of the 4
certified schools in the U.S. They are really the ones who have the
training to discover and understand your individual needs.

Maitake

Hi:
Instead of chemo,I am taking the Maitake Mushroom D-Fraction, it makes more sense to take something that supposedly targets cancer cells rather than chemo which blasts ALL fast-growing cells. So far, my tumor markers remain low.....

Alternatives

As you can see from the replies, there are many options. The confusing part comes when you try to choose one. I would suggest following up on the doctors recommended. I also found a nice book--I think the title is Alternative Approach to Cancer. It's published by Alternative Medicine, and it's available on Amazon.

The best thing is to keep asking questions and researching. Keep a good attitude too. I hope you find the alternative treatment which works best for you.

Alternative Meds

Hello, I haven't taken any of those medicines, but I know the company that makes Ambrotose is Mannatech, and a company called Herbspro has access to most of the others. I recognize a lot of the names of products you mention from their website and from my reading about cancer. You can learn a lot about the products from their website, too.

Best wishes,

Mushrooms, Fractionated Pectin Etc.

I get mushroom products from a website suggested by a nutrionist at a cancer conference. The website is www.fungiperfecti.com They have several different individual and combined types of mushrooms which means there can be fewer to take.
I get Thornes Fractionated Citrus Pectin from several different websites, just put the name in a search engine. Some will only sell to medical professionals, but many don't ask any questions. I buy this in powdered form as it would take so many capsules to get the suggested dose. One scoop (included)) contains the daily dose. I put it in a smoothie for my partner who has stage 4 non small cell lung cancer. Nearly 3 years ago she was given 6 months to 2 years to live. Something is working, natural, traditional? Who knows, who cares? The important thing is she is still here and relatively healthy. Another hint...get a good oncologist, preferably one who is also doing clinical trials. I hear folks saying all the time that their initial one just gave them a death sentence and gave them some same old same old treatment. Ours is great, and never runs out of alternatives. Also, we have found some of the side effects of chemo can be prevented by the use of daily supplements. For example, many people have to have potasium infusions (painful), after the first one I solved the problem with a daily potasium supplement. Similarly, iron...they give you $3,000. shots to keep you from becoming enemic. This seems to work only a while, and then a blood transfusion is required (takes all day). After the first time this happened I began giving my partner 58 mg. of iron daily...she hasn't been enemic since.
Hope this is helpful...and good luck.

Alternative Medicine

Hi,

There are many options out there for alternative types of treatments. The key is finding one that works for you. I had a pancreatic tumor that spread to my liver. It's a long story, but Ambrotose from Mannatech helped me. Check out the website Glycoscience.org. Glyconutrients are nutrients/supplements that supply your body with the food it needs to heal itself and work properly. Follow what makes sense to you. Kim

Alternatives

Find a partner physician who is willing to think outside the box.

I was sent home to die after an 8.5 hour Whipple for PC. "Chemo is out, because you have mets in both lungs. You have 4 months to 1-year to enjoy your wife of 20+ years. I'll pray for you said the ONC." That was about 11 months ago.

I found a MD who also understands CAM; ND and Homeopathic meds. We became partners. It is 10-months later and we have not turned things around, but have held our own, with good quality of life and hope for the future.

Protocols to consider in Alternatives are: Alpha Lipoic Acid; High Dose Vit. C I.V.; Vit. B17; DMSO; Neltrexone; Cesium Chloride; Poly MVA and several others.

Look hard at the Wolfe Clinic High Alkaline w/Cesium Chloride protocol. Don't just call direct, but with the cooperation of your trusted local Physician partner, do a joint
onference-call with Dr. Wolfe, if that is how you decide. Then, listen and partner with your trusted physician and do as Winston Churchill said to do: "never give up."

These are just options. Only you can make the final decision.

I'll be praying for you!

Great Advice, Thank You!

I am glad I found this board. I like the advice on this thread.
Recently I bought Cancer, Step Outside the Box, by Ty Bollinger. It
is so GOOD.
Another book I think is pretty good is by Patrick Quinlin (sp).
Although, don't like that he recommends soy though. I read that
soy is not the healthy it is told to be. Fermented, organic non GM I
have read to be the ONLY type okay. I choose to forget all soy but
this is hard because they sneak it into so much processed foods
these days. SO........ I am trying to eat homemade and I threw out
all the canned and boxed garbage I had in our pantry. Another
great
book is nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon with Mary Enig.
That's a book I'm buying as Christmas gifts this year. Coconut oil
is another excellent choice to research. There is a cancer/fungus
link....another interesting book/website. Gosh, I am babbling!
Typing about fungus, look up mycotoxins too. I this Perry has
very good advice. Get going and don't give up! Get someone you
trust to help you.

Sincerely,
Julie

More Information

Kim:
You say you "had" a tumor in your pancreas that had spread to your liver. Does that mean your cancer is in remission. You mentioned yours was a long story. My mother has the exact same illness. I would be very interested in hearing more about your personal experience, if you would be so kind. I have been reading about herbs and alternatives until my eyes cross! I would be very interested to hear what, exactly, worked for you. I hope you are doing well.

Info on Alternative Trmt.

Garagegirl,
Like I said, it's a long story and I have several posts by "kimgee" under pancreatic, liver cancer, and supplements. My story started in 2002 when a very large (small football size) tumor was found in my pancreas. (Neuroendicrine tumor) It was removed along with 50% of my pancreas, spleen, gall bladder and lymph nodes. It had spread to my liver. Had RFA and embolization done, but tumors continued to spread. I started on Ambrotose from Mannatech (large doses)and felt great, but CT's showed tumors were not going away. I'm young with small children, in great health, and was approved for a liver transplant, which I received in 2005. Oddly enough, when my old liver was biopsied, it wasnt' as bad as they originally thought and there was evidence that my body was fighting off the tumors. Had complications unrelated to cancer, and almost died twice, but am cancer free as of last week. I've had cancer and a liver transplant, but I feel better than I've felt since I was a teenager, and I believe it's the Mannatech products. I take several products from them and I have great energy, better skin, better hair, am less hormonal and am healthier than most people I know. Through all of my procedures I recovered quickly and am on such a low dose of anti-rejection medicines from the transplant, that my doctors don't know what to make of it! If you do some research on glyconutrients, you'll find that they help your cells correct themselves and work properly, allowing your body to heal and function as it was made to do. Some people say it's a hoax, but I know what worked for me and keeps me feeling good. I tried going off of the products for a few weeks, because of the cost. After 4 weeks I went back on them. I won't go without them again, knowing how much healthier they make me feel. I never had radiation or chemo. I also walk 2-3 several times a week, drink green or black tea everyday, and stay away from processed foods if possible. I use a lot of olive oil, eat organic as much as possible, grow most of my own vegetables, and avoid a lot of sugar. I also eat high antioxidant foods as much as possible. Keep doing research as much as possible on nutrition. Check out Dr. Ehmet Oz's books. (he's on Oprah)Most of what we buy in the stores, even fruits and vegetables don't contain the vitamins and minerals they used to 50 years ago. Don't take no for an answer from doctors. Find one that gives you the answers you want. Someone mentioned finding a doctor that does chemical trials. Good idea, as most of them are a little more open minded regarding treatments. You have to be proactive. Let me know if you need more specific info. Kim

Research

Hi Kim:
Thanks for the information - it was very helpful. Your case actually sounds a little worse than my mother's. The mass in her pancreas is only the size of a quarter and while it has spread to her liver it has only created what they are calling "lesions". They are small spots, 1cm and under. When I asked the surgeon who did the biopsy why they would not at least remove the mass on the pancreas he said "that is just not the way it is done b/c of the fact that it has already spread to surrounding organs". I am surprised you were eligible for surgery given that it had spread. I guess every case is different, but I am thrilled for you and pray that you will have continued good health. It is comforting to hear success stories for a change - there are so few with this disease. I will be looking into the alternatives you mentioned. She has been on a mushroom supplement for a couple months now - AHCC. Thanks again!

Alternative Meds For Tumor

Hi,

You may want to get a second opinion regarding your mom's pancreatic tumor. Every case is different, but when they removed my pancreatic tumor, they also removed the liver lesions that I had at that time to try and keep them from spreading. When cancer cells get into the liver, they continue to spread because the liver is always regenerating its cells. It can further spread to other organs and the lymph system. Mine were lesions, too, but there are ways to treat them.

Surgeons

We live in Louisville, KY, but two of my surgeons have recently moved to Houston and Arkansas. The other is Dr. Kelly McMasters and he is very good. All of my surgeons believed that if there is a tumor in a place where it can be resected, it needed to come out as soon as possible. I have an aunt with cancer in PA that went to Sloan Kettering in NY and has had very good doctors and results.

My dad is taking Bovine Tracheal Cartilage. The brand he takes is Vita Carte & it is $80/month on Amazon.com. BTC supposedly stops angiogenesis which is the formation of new blood vessels. My dad has adenocarcinoma & it is a type of tumor that needs a rich blood supply. The theory is that if you can prevent the tumor from making new blood vessels, you will starve it & it will eventually die. You must take 12 tablets/day for the rest of your life. Dr. John Prudden (a Harvard surgeon) was the one who discovered it & began the research. Dr. Prudden does not advocate stopping chemo. His research shows that it works with or enhances the effect of the chemo. If you want to learn more about it, do an internet search using Dr. John Prudden Bovine Tracheal Cartilage & you can read more about it.It seems to be working for my dad who has stage IV PC with mets to the liver. The last CT shows that the tumor has decreased in size by 1 cm & the liver met is not seen on the CT scan. Dad has only taken 7 chemo treatments & he is only on a palliative care dose of Gemzar. Whether it is the BTC or Gemzar working, I cannot be sure. However, his oncologist was so shocked by the results that she repeated some of his tests. You see, his oncologist privately told me that my dad would not live to complete even the first round of chemo treatments. Needless to say, we are thrilled with his results & he is almost finished with his second set of chemo treatments. His blood counts have been prefect & he has never had to miss a treatment due to low WBC's, RBC's, or platelet counts. I hope it works for you if you try it. I will keep you posted if we have any negative side effects or problems with the BTC, but so far it is all good.

I don't know if this will help him or not different things work for different people.I have or had colo/rectal cancer and did radiation and 11 days of chemo. And they said it was still pretty big and want to do some pretty radical surgery.I decided to go the natural rounte and keep and eye on it with std medical dr's also.Mine now appears to be completely gone in a matter of weeks and I feel really good.Like I said it isn't for everyone but , here is what all I did and I am not sure what all did it but I'll list first the 3 main things I beleive did the most good.(1)Immunocal -It boost glutathione , or rather causes you own body to produce it. The pills are mostly destroyed in your stomach , so this works best.(2) Graviola- from online or many health food stores have it , it really boosted the progress from me and it is called a natural chemo and the only side affect I can find is that it toxifies the live with the debrie from the cancer (which is good in itself)(3) A good liver cleans product to clear out the toxins from the cancer debrie.I also changed my diet, on BIGGIE is NO SUGAR!! Use stevia instead it is even good for diabetics. Cancer thrives on SUGAR , and in fact that is from what I understnd how a PET scan works at looking at high glucose activity. Also the phrase they used on me w/colon cancer was "No Meat,no wheat and no sweets" No or very little red meat and try to get all organic as much as poossible.Another biggie is try to get alkaline, cancer thrives in acid and can't live in alkaline inviroment. I got an alkaline water filter , they are expense but well worth it.Also I juice , carrots/beets/celery and apple together and put in some graviola in the drive (Liquid form) Hope this is not too much , I am not selling anything even though I now dist. Immunocal I won't mention my website unless you ask.All I can say is it WWORKED FOR ME and I want to tell other!Tha and hope all goes well.Dennisbxitrader@hotmail.com

714X has been available here in Canada for quite a few years with very good results in the treatment of cancer. A few websites that are informative are
http://www.mnwelldir.org/docs/Newsletters/02_Jan.htm#Study

http://www.ralphmoss.com/html/naessens1.shtml

this one has a commercial aspect which you might find negative but it is a documented account of cancer survival using 714X along with other immune enhancing substances. Just as an aside I have the recipe for homemade Essiac tea which I will gladly send to you if you are interested

And lastly some information regarding high dose Intravenous Vitamin C

http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/healthnews.php?newsid=30584

Hope this is helpful

I am posting this because a friend of mine has been brought back to good health after being told by his oncologists that he would not live to see Christmas 2006. He was considered terminal from cancer spread throughout his body and now the CT scans and other tests show a miraculous regression.

BE WELL
