Cholangiocarcinoma

My wife Dawn (48 yrs) was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma December of 05, had liver resection done Jan 12th 06. There is a couple on good discussion groups on the web for cholangiocarcinoma. Cholangiocarcinoma dot org, and one at the John Hopkins site under bile duct and gallbladder cancer. Cholangiocarcinoma is considered a rare cancer and a difficult one to treat.

I wish your friend the best in this situation.

My mother was diagnosed with this and did not make it, She passed away 16 days later, three weeks after surgery. It is a very rare cancer. Only 2 in 100,000 people get this. I wish you all the best and suggest you spend all the time with this person you can, life is very short.

Info

cholangiocarcinoma.org is probably the best website to visit.
my mother was diagnosed in june and is putting up a brave
fight.
surgery was not an option for her either as the tumor was
pressing up against her liver, killing many of the blood vessels
on the liver so resection would have been too complicated. it
also appears to have spread to the lymphnodes for her. it's
been heartbreaking at times but she's currently doing chemo. i
recommmend marijuana brownies if your friend is not eating.

but read everything on the internet about it. it's A VERY tough
cancer and survival in the long term seems like a long shot but
stuff does go into remission at random. look at lance
armstrong!! stay positive for her and or you.

peace-

pray for your friend and do all the things that you ever wanted to do with her now, its awful. my dad died 3 weeks after diagnosis, he had secondaries in his liver and pancreas and also suffered acute renal failure, they told us he had in excess of 30 tumours in his liver, he was only 58. good luck

In the 4 and a half months since losing my dad I really think i am losing my mind, every day he is there in my thoughts, nobody knows how i miss him, since he passed away we have had his birthday in november, christmas, the birth of our 2nd child ( dads 8th grandchild ) and new year, i pray that it will get easier soon, i have a void that wont fill and i have a pain that wont go away, i visit his graveside and talk to him regularly, just wish he could talk back, i pray that you are staying strong and that you will be given help to get through this terrible ordeal.god bless
